Can Anna find love in the City of Light?

Anna is happy in Atlanta. She has a loyal best friend and a crush on her coworker at the movie theater, who is just starting to return her affection. So she’s less than thrilled when her father decides to send her to a boarding school in Paris for her senior year.

But despite not speaking a word of French, Anna meets some cool new people, including the handsome Étienne St. Clair, who quickly becomes her best friend. Unfortunately, he’s taken —and Anna might be, too. Will a year of romantic near misses end with the French kiss she’s waiting for?

–Spoiler Free Review!–

I started this book with zero expectations, everyone had said this book was amazing and cute and funny. But I remained skeptical like I always am with contemporary books. I’ve been let down so many times and I didn’t expect this book to be anything different.

Boy was I wrong.

The thing I’ve learned about contemporary romance books, at least for me, is that it’s all about chemistry. Either you connect with the characters or you don’t. Either you care what happens to them or you don’t.

Many contemporary romances are similar, what’s difference is the way the author executes their story and portrays their characters. I liked Anna and I liked Étienne St. Clair. I liked Josh, Rashmi, and Meredith. They’re were all so quirky and funny. I fell in love with reading about their lives and their struggles. I cared if they got their happy endings and I cried when something bad happened to them.

When the chemistry is there, nothing else really mattered. We could sit here all day and argue about all the flaws in Anna and the French Kiss, because they’re there, what book doesn’t have flaws?

Or I can just end my review by saying, I had a blast reading this book, it was buckets of fun. It made me feel happy and sad. It made me cry and laugh. It made my heart flutter and I felt good. This book made me feel good inside. So put me down on the list of people who loved this book.
