VI Book Reviews in One Post!

I was going through my Goodreads and I realized a had a bunch a short reviews for 6 books and I didn’t like the idea of posting 6 super short book reviews in separate posts without going into detail so I decided instead of making them longer I would just combine them into one post! So many great books! Now, some of the reviews are short not because I didn’t have a lot to say about them. It’s that I had too much to say about them that I just couldn’t put my thoughts into words.

“My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations.”

Book Number 1:

Just One Day by Gayle Forman

Synopsis:

Allyson Healey’s life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.
A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the “accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know.

I honestly did not think I would like this book as much as I did.
Beautifully written. I loved reading it. It was just perfect. I was expecting this cheesy romance where the guy in girl fell in love in just one day. Which they did, but it wasn’t cheesy at all. And it wasn’t what the whole book was about. It was so much more than that. It’s a definite must read for anyone.
“Sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost.”
I loved that part in the synopsis because it’s true. Allyson was someone who always followed the rules and did whatever her parents told her too. Which is okay for a while, yes you should listen to your parents. But you also need to make your own mistakes and find your own path.

Book Number 2:

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Random Riggs

Synopsis:

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs.

It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

It’s a very unique book and it’s really hard to believe the pictures in it are real! I very much enjoyed reading it and learning about Jacob. I liked it, I just didn’t love it, but I still can’t wait to read the second one!

Brilliant. So brilliant. Markus Zusak definitely doesn’t sugarcoat anything but I’m totally okay with that. So many tears. So many. Gosh darn it Rudy! I just don’t have any words to describe my feelings for this book. It is absolutely one of my favorite books ever really enjoyed it. Just go read it!

Love, Aubrey is such an amazing book. It had me bawling my eyes out over the simplest lines Aubrey is such a strong character and there just isn’t enough words to describe how amazing this book is.
My friend recommended this book to me, I was hesitant to read it because I was very lazy back in 6th grade, but I’m so glad I did and I’ve read it every year since that day.
So just go ahead and check out this book from your local library or buy it yourself because you won’t regret it.
